GoHighLevel Review (2026): An Honest Take From a Team That's Built 1,000+ Accounts

A chiropractor we talked to last year was paying for four tools that were supposed to run her front office. A scheduler, an email platform, a texting app, and a spreadsheet she called her "CRM." Leads came in from her ads, landed in one of those four places, and then it was anyone's guess whether the front desk followed up. She wasn't short on leads. She was losing the ones she already paid for, and she couldn't see it happening.
Her problem has a number attached to it. The MIT lead-response study tracked more than 15,000 leads and found a business that answers within five minutes is 21 times more likely to qualify that lead than one that waits 30 minutes. In the real world, 48% of businesses take five or more days to respond, and 12% never reach out at all. Her front desk wasn't lazy. There was just no system making sure the text went out while the lead was still warm.
She'd heard GoHighLevel could replace all four tools. She'd also read a dozen reviews that either worshipped it or trashed it, with almost nothing in between. So here's ours, and we're not neutral bystanders. We were part of the original team hired at HighLevel, we helped build their onboarding and consulting departments, and we've since set up more than 1,000 accounts for real businesses. We also earn an affiliate commission if you sign up through our link, which we'll be upfront about the whole way down.
That means we know exactly where this thing shines and exactly where it will make you want to throw your laptop. Both are in here.
The short verdict
GoHighLevel is the best value in its category for a growing service business that wants one system instead of six. It captures leads, follows up automatically by text and email, books appointments, and shows you what's actually converting. For $97 to $297 a month it replaces a stack that usually runs $400 to $1,200.
It is not plug-and-play. It has a real learning curve, the mobile app has rough edges, and if you expect it to run itself out of the box, you'll be one of the angry one-star reviews. Set up right, it's the system most of our clients wish they'd had two years earlier.
Our rating: 4.5 / 5 for the right owner.
After working in Highlvel for over 7 years now, I know how powerful it is, but I also recognize that with great power, comes a learning curve (and great responsibility).
But I believe that to be true for any great CRM tool, whether that's Hubspot or Salesforce, and many other ones inbetween. The fact of the matter is the more your software can DO, the more there is to BUILD and UNDERSTAND.
The good news is, with a little education or a small amount of professional help, HIghlevel is actually incredibly easy to get running and bringing real ROI to your business in a short amount of time - not months, but simply weeks.

What GoHighLevel actually is
Strip away the hype and it's an all-in-one platform that bundles the tools a service business duct-tapes together: a CRM with sales pipelines, two-way SMS and email, a booking calendar, funnel and website builder, review requests, forms, and an automation engine that ties them together. More recently it added AI features (a conversation bot and voice agents that can answer calls).
The point isn't the feature list. The point is that a lead can hit your form, get an instant text back, book itself onto your calendar, and get nudged if it goes cold, all inside one system where you can finally see which ad source it came from. That's the leak most service businesses don't know they have.
And it's not a fringe tool. As of 2025 HighLevel reports 600,000+ users, and says the platform booked 179 million appointments and facilitated $5.2 billion in sales in 2025 alone. Whatever you decide about it, a lot of businesses are running their front office on this thing.
Who we are to review it
Fair question, since half the internet reviews HighLevel to sell you their affiliate link (we have one too). Here's the difference: we've lived inside this software for 10,000+ hours, trained HighLevel's own consultants, and onboarded everyone from solo practices up to enterprise names like Billie Gene. We're not guessing at what breaks. We know.
The ratings, at a glance
Across the big review sites, GoHighLevel lands in the same place: strong, with a vocal unhappy minority.
The pattern is the story. People who set it up as a system love it. People who logged in expecting it to run their business for them wrote the angry reviews. That gap is almost always a setup problem, not a software problem.
What GoHighLevel does well
It genuinely replaces the stack. This is the real win. Tool sprawl is the norm now, not the exception: the average company runs over 100 SaaS apps, and roughly 30% of software spend is wasted on tools that overlap or sit unused. Every app you bolt on is another login, another bill, and another seam a lead can fall through. Clients who consolidate a scheduler, an email tool, a texting app, and a separate CRM routinely cut $400 to $1,200 a month in software down to one bill. One agency reported annual savings north of $10,000 after moving in.
The automation engine is deep. Workflows handle multi-step, multi-channel follow-up (text, then email, then a task for the team) with conditions and timers. This is where most teams quietly lose money: about 80% of sales take five or more follow-ups, yet 44% of reps give up after the first try and most quit before the fifth. A human forgets. A workflow doesn't. For catching the warm lead who booked a call and then ghosted, which is the most expensive leak we see, it's excellent.
Unlimited contacts and users on every plan. You don't get punished for growing your list or adding team members. Most CRMs charge per seat or per contact. HighLevel doesn't.
Two-way texting is built in, not bolted on. Speed-to-lead is where most businesses bleed, and having SMS native to the CRM means an instant auto-reply the second a lead comes in. It's the whole ballgame more often than owners think: 78% of buyers go with the company that responds first. Native texting is how you become that company without a person glued to the inbox all day.
Reviews, calendars, and forms are all in the box. Post-sale review requests (a leak almost nobody plugs) run automatically off the same system.
Pros: Replaces 6–8 tools for one price; deep automation; unlimited contacts and users; native two-way SMS; strong value for the money.
Cons: Depth means complexity; you have to build it before it pays off.
Where it frustrates people (the honest part)
We're not going to pretend the one-star reviews are all imaginary. They're not.
The learning curve is real. GoHighLevel is powerful but not intuitive. New users get lost in workflow settings, and automations can misfire silently if you build them wrong. This is the single biggest reason people bounce. It's also the exact reason a done-for-you build exists.
The mobile app is the weak link. Persistent complaints about crashes during calls and flaky notifications. It's usable, but it's not the desktop experience.
Email deliverability takes tending. HighLevel sends through Mailgun, and people migrating from a dedicated email platform sometimes see inbox placement dip until domains are warmed and authenticated properly. Fixable, but not automatic.
Support is hit or miss. 24/7 support is included, and plenty of tickets get solved. But "slow" and "canned answers" show up often enough in reviews that you shouldn't count on support to be your onboarding plan.
Some features are broad, not deep. As an all-in-one, a given tool inside HighLevel is usually 80% as good as the best standalone app for that one job. For most service businesses that trade is worth it. If you need the absolute best-in-class email builder or the most polished funnel software on earth, a specialist may beat it on that one axis.
Pros: Honest, fixable issues, not dealbreakers for most owners. Cons: None of it self-corrects; the platform rewards setup and punishes winging it.
GoHighLevel pricing in 2026
Three plans, and for a service practice the math is simple.
Every plan includes unlimited contacts, unlimited users, the full CRM, automations, email, calendar, funnels, and reputation tools. Most service businesses live happily on Starter or Unlimited; the $497 plan is really for people who want to resell the software.
One honest caveat: usage is metered on top. Text messages, emails, phone minutes, and AI usage bill separately, so plan on paying somewhat above the sticker price once you're actually sending. It's still far cheaper than the stack it replaces, but it isn't a flat $97 forever.

The healthcare note (med spas, chiros, dentists, therapists)
If you handle protected health info, HighLevel can be run HIPAA-compliant, but it's a paid add-on, not a default setting. The HIPAA option runs about $297/month on top of your plan, signs a Business Associate Agreement, and turns on encryption, mandatory MFA, and audit logging. Two things to know before you buy it: once it's enabled it applies across your whole account, and per HighLevel it can't be canceled, refunded, or downgraded afterward. So turn it on deliberately.
None of this is legal advice, and compliance depends on your whole setup, not one checkbox. But for a healthcare practice, HighLevel plus the HIPAA add-on is one of the more affordable compliant ways to run intake, texting, and follow-up in a single system.
Who it's for, and who it isn't
It's for you if: you're a service business doing six figures, running ads or generating leads, and stitching together a stack of tools that don't talk. You want one system that captures, follows up, and shows you what's working. You're willing to set it up (or have it set up) rather than expecting magic.
It's not for you if: you want a button that fixes everything with zero configuration, you need one best-in-class tool for a single narrow job, or you're a hobbyist who won't use half of it. If you won't build the system, the price of the software is the least of your problems.
Our verdict
GoHighLevel is the platform we build our clients on, and this review isn't a coincidence: we recommend it because we've watched it stop the exact leaks that were costing service businesses real money. It's not the prettiest or the simplest tool in any single category. It's the best system value for an owner who wants to stop losing leads they already paid for.
The catch is the one every honest review lands on: the software is only as good as the setup. Winging it is where the one-star reviews come from.
If you want to try it yourself, start the free trial and build one pipeline and one follow-up automation. That's enough to feel whether it fits.

If you'd rather skip the learning curve, that's literally what we do. The GoLevely Jumpstart is a done-for-you HighLevel build: we set up your pipeline, your capture, and your follow-up so it's leakproof from day one. It's not a lead problem. It's a no-system problem, and we build the system.
